Lexus Launches Eighth-Generation ES Sedan in Israel with Electric Option

Lexus is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Israel by introducing the eighth generation of its ES sedan, marking the first time the model is available as a fully electric vehicle. The new ES, which debuted globally over a year ago, is larger than its predecessor, measuring 5.14 meters in length, 1.92 meters wide, and 1.56 meters high, with a wheelbase extended by 8 centimeters to 2.95 meters.

The Israeli market will receive the ES with two powertrain options. The 300h hybrid variant features a 2.5-liter engine and an electric motor, producing a combined 201 horsepower. It offers front-wheel drive, accelerates to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, and achieves a fuel economy of 20.8 km per liter.

The fully electric 300e model boasts a single motor with 227 horsepower and front-wheel drive, also reaching 100 km/h in 8 seconds. Its 77 kWh battery (72 kWh usable) provides a range of 525-581 kilometers. The electric ES supports 22 kW internal charging and can charge rapidly at 150 kW, going from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes.

Globally, other variants include a 300h with all-wheel drive, a more powerful 350h hybrid (224 hp), and an all-wheel-drive electric 500e (343 hp). However, only the 300h and 300e are confirmed for the Israeli launch.

Lexus has updated its trim levels, replacing the previous "Kyushu" trim. The entry-level "Hadori" trim, available on both hybrid and electric versions, includes synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14-inch multimedia screen with smartphone connectivity and OTA updates. Higher trims, "Takumi" (hybrid only) and "Takumi Plus" (electric only), add features like 360-degree cameras, a head-up display, a Mark Levinson sound system, and premium interior materials. The top-tier "Kiwami" trim, exclusive to the electric model, focuses on rear-seat comfort with features like a reclining rear seat with a leg rest and massage functions.

The new Lexus ES comes with the Lexus Safety System+ 4+ (LSS4+), earning a 7 out of 8 rating from the Ministry of Transport. Pricing starts at 355,000 shekels for the 300h Hadori and goes up to 430,000 shekels for the electric 300e Kiwami. The vehicle includes a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, with an option to extend the battery warranty to 10 years or 1 million km. Service intervals are set at 15,000 km.
