Otzma Yehudit Slams "Antisemitic" Democrats Party Over Disqualification Bid

The "Democrats" party has submitted a request to the Central Elections Committee to disqualify the "Otzma Yehudit" party from running in the upcoming Knesset elections. The request, filed by the Democrats, alleges that Otzma Yehudit harms democracy, denies Israel's existence as a democratic state, and incites racism.

The disqualification document specifically names party leaders, including Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and MK Tali Gottlieb, as representatives of "Kahanism" in the Knesset. It claims they are using their governmental power and immunity to undermine the rule of law, violate judicial orders, disregard the Supreme Court's authority, endanger national security, and promote violent racism.

Otzma Yehudit responded fiercely to the disqualification request, labeling the Democrats party as "antisemitic and anti-Israel." They accused the Democrats' leader of claiming IDF soldiers kill babies as a hobby and alleged that party members supported draft refusal before October 7th, represented terrorists legally, and recently backed an antisemitic incitement video against the IDF. Otzma Yehudit stated that the Democrats' presence in the Knesset is a "disgrace" to Israel.
