Former MK Avir Kara Reveals Offer to Join Haredi Party

Former Knesset Member Avir Kara, who recently announced he would not run in the upcoming elections, has revealed that he was offered a high position on the "Haredi Public" party list, led by Leitner. The offer included a promise of a significant economic role, potentially a ministerial position, should the party succeed.

Kara admitted that the offer was appealing and that he seriously considered it, stating, "I must admit, the idea appealed to me. Their party appeals to me even today." However, he ultimately declined, concluding that joining would not be the right move for either party. He believes the party's core mission of integrating the Haredi sector into employment, the economy, the military, and education should be championed from within the Haredi community itself.

"It is important that the clear and distinct voice calling for the integration of the Haredi sector into employment, the economy, the military, and education comes from within the Haredi public," Kara explained. He emphasized that the "Haredi Public" party should be "fully Haredi," without external alliances solely for electoral gain.

Kara stated that he shared his reservations with Leitner, who was initially disappointed but eventually understood. Kara encouraged Leitner to pursue their vision independently, without compromising their core principles for political expediency. He expressed pride in their decision to run alone with a purely Haredi list, deeming it more important than securing additional political positions or alliances.

Kara concluded by offering his support for the party's ideas, stating, "If you need a soldier to promote good ideas, I am here for you." He reiterated his belief in the substantial economic potential of integrating the Haredi sector into employment and education, suggesting it surpasses all of Israel's natural gas discoveries combined.
