Teen Arrested in Jaffa with Flares Ahead of Tel Aviv Derby
Police in Tel Aviv arrested a 15-year-old boy in Jaffa on suspicion of attempting to ignite flares near Bloomfield Stadium, shortly before the highly anticipated derby match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv. The arrest occurred on Jerusalem Boulevard in Jaffa, a location close to the stadium.
Plainclothes officers from the Ayalon district noticed the suspect and apprehended him after he allegedly tried to set off the pyrotechnic devices. The flares were confiscated as part of the security preparations for the football game.
