Three Arrested Ahead of Soccer Match Between Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv
Israeli police detained three individuals, two adults and one minor, on suspicion of involvement in disturbances and violence ahead of a highly anticipated soccer match between Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv. The arrests were made by officers from the Be'er Sheva station and the Yoav unit.
One adult was detained for suspected unruly behavior in a public place. The second adult is suspected of attempting to assault police officers and interfering with an officer performing their duty. The minor was detained for interfering with an officer performing their duty.
Following processing, all three individuals were banned from soccer stadiums for 30 days. Police stated they will continue to act decisively to maintain public order and fan safety, and to prevent violence and disturbances during sporting events.
The match was scheduled to take place on Monday evening at Turner Stadium.
