Three Arrested Ahead of Soccer Match Between Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv
Israeli police detained three individuals, including two adults and one minor, on Monday evening in connection with alleged violence and public order disturbances prior to a highly anticipated soccer match between Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv at Turner Stadium. The arrests were made by officers from the Be'er Sheva station and the Yoav unit.
One adult was detained on suspicion of disorderly conduct in a public place. A second adult was arrested for allegedly attempting to assault police officers and obstructing them in their duties. The minor was detained for allegedly obstructing a police officer.
Following processing, all three individuals were banned from soccer stadiums for 30 days. The police stated their continued commitment to maintaining public order and fan safety, and to preventing violence and disturbances during sporting events.
