Bereaved Father Slams Likud Candidate Taliq Guili Over Election Video

Yizhar Shay, a bereaved father, launched a sharp public attack against Taliq Guili, a candidate for the Likud party, following comments Guili made in a Likud election video. Shay criticized Guili's remarks about "the other camp," calling them "unprecedented audacity."

Shay stated that Guili should apologize, as should the Likud spokesperson who he claimed disrupted the Sabbath to officially speak for the party. Shay elaborated that while Guili is entitled to her opinions and is likely to become a Knesset member, her criticism of an entire political camp was unacceptable, especially coming from a bereaved mother.

He emphasized that his criticism was not based on Guili's political views but on her use of her status as a bereaved mother to denigrate a large group of people. Shay pointed out that millions, including his own family, participated in protests for two and a half years to pressure the government to bring hostages home, including Ran, presumably Guili's son.

Shay asserted that he never intended to defame an entire camp, noting that the people in "this camp" protested weekly to pressure the government. He concluded by referencing Guili's son, Ran, stating that when he went to defend Israeli citizens, he did not consider which camp they belonged to, but rather defended Israel, and will be remembered as a hero.
