Political Commentator Slams Mother of Fallen Soldier Over Election Remarks

Political commentator Barak Sari has sharply criticized Talik Guili, the mother of fallen detective Ran Guili, who was killed in combat on October 7th. Guili had recently drawn public ire for a social media post stating that if the "other camp" wins the election, the memory of fallen heroes will disappear. Sari, who has publicly supported Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, called Guili's statement unacceptable and a "red line."

Sari responded to Guili's tweet, which expressed her consistent support for Netanyahu's government throughout the war, by stating, "It is not respectable to say that the other bloc will erase the memory of our children." He questioned her assertion, asking if figures like bereaved father Isaac Herzog, or politicians Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Lieberman, would erase memories. Sari emphasized that these individuals represent a large segment of the public fighting for the return of hostages, including Guili's son, and that Guili's rhetoric was inappropriate.

The controversy surrounding Talik Guili intensified following her securing the 9th spot on the Likud party's list, a reserved position. Upon joining, she made the controversial statement about the "other camp" erasing memories. This remark sparked widespread anger, including a strong rebuke from protest leader Shachaf Bresler, who vowed to remove the "wicked government."
