Maccabi Haifa May Release New Signing Pedro Brazão Within 48 Hours
Maccabi Haifa is reportedly considering releasing new signing Pedro Brazão within the next 48 hours, despite his recent acquisition. Brazão, who was left out of the squad for the team's upcoming match against Ironi Kiryat Shmona, is close to departing the club.
The team is preparing for an away game against Kiryat Shmona, with an estimated 6,000 fans expected to attend the stadium in Netanya. Brazão was slated to start on the right wing, playing alongside Brazilian midfielder Bruninho, who will make his first start as a left winger. Andrea Novakovic and Yair Mordechai are also expected to feature in the attack, with Mordechai making his debut in the starting lineup against his former club.
A source within Maccabi Haifa expressed optimism about Brazão's potential contribution, stating, "Brazão is supposed to add a dimension of quality and spark. This trio is super talented, they need to bring it to the field." Bruninho has already proven himself for the Greens, while Mordechai impressed last season with Kiryat Shmona. Brazão had previously impressed in Turkey's second division.
Due to the absence of a natural left-back, Kenny Saief will play in that position, while Tsunami will move to center-back. Guy Melamed will miss the game as he continues his recovery, with a decision made for him to return to training only after a full recovery.
The projected starting lineup includes Omri Glazer; Yileh Betay, Nigel Lonwijk, Tsunami, Kenny Saief; Ali Muhammad, Eitan Azulay, Yair Mordechai; Pedro Brazão, Bruninho, and Andrea Novakovic.
