Maccabi Haifa Eyes Serbian Left-Back Lucas Barros
Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Haifa is reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old Brazilian left-back Lucas Barros from Serbian club Vojvodina. Barros, who has a contract with Vojvodina until the end of the season, has played in two league matches this season. The Serbian transfer window is one of the few remaining open after the Israeli window closed.
Maccabi Haifa is looking to strengthen its defense, potentially to move current left-back Sun Menachem to a center-back role. Barros, who has previously played for Spanish club Villarreal and Portuguese club Tondela, joined Vojvodina in the 2024/25 season. Last season, he made 17 appearances, scoring no goals but providing two assists, and was deployed as both a center-back and a right-back.
The club is considering Barros or Kenneth Paal as potential signings to bolster the defense for the remainder of the current season, with one of the two expected to arrive.
