Maccabi Haifa Considers Signing Serbian Left-Back Lucas Barros

Israeli football club Maccabi Haifa is reportedly considering the acquisition of Serbian left-back Lucas Barros from FK Vojvodina. The 27-year-old Brazilian defender, who has a contract with the Serbian club until the end of the season, has played in two league matches this season. His potential arrival would allow Maccabi Haifa to strengthen their left-back position, potentially shifting current player Sunami to a center-back role. Barros has previously played for Spanish club Chiclana CF and Portuguese club CD Tondela. He joined FK Vojvodina for the 2024/25 season, contributing two assists in 17 appearances last season while also being deployed as a center-back and right-back. Maccabi Haifa is also reportedly looking at Kenneth Paal as another option for the left-back position, with the expectation that one of the two players will join the team by the end of the current season. The Serbian transfer window closes after the Israeli one.
