Major Fire Erupts Near Northern Israel Shopping Center, Threatens Homes
A large fire broke out Saturday evening in an open area behind the Big Fashion shopping complex in Yarka, a town in the Western Galilee region of northern Israel. Thick black smoke billowed over the area. The fire department received initial reports around 6:30 PM. Responding units found an area with intense heat and heavy smoke. Strong winds are fanning the flames, pushing them towards nearby residential homes. Multiple firefighting crews from the Zvulun station are working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to residential buildings. Additional forces, including water tankers, have been dispatched to the scene. Firefighters are simultaneously battling the flames and protecting adjacent structures. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and an investigation into the circumstances is underway.
