Germany Accuses Hamas Cell of Plotting Attacks on Jewish Targets
German federal prosecutors have indicted seven individuals suspected of belonging to Hamas and planning extensive attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets in Germany and Austria. The alleged plot was timed to coincide with commemorations of the October 7th attacks last year. The defendants hold various nationalities, including German, Danish, Lebanese, and Bulgarian.
According to the indictment, which was reported by the German newspaper Bild, the accused received directives from Hamas officials. They managed to acquire weapons within Germany, including an assault rifle, 13 handguns, and over 700 rounds of ammunition. The prosecution stated that planned targets included Israeli diplomats, Jewish community centers, and pro-Israel demonstrations.
