Holiday Travel Causes Major Traffic Jams on Key Israeli Highways
Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on Highway 1 and Highway 2 (the Coastal Highway) in Israel as many Israelis depart for holiday meals ahead of Rosh Hashanah. The holiday period began Friday and will conclude Sunday evening. Traffic jams started forming in the late afternoon hours on Friday.
