Former Goalkeeper Itamar Nitzan Frontrunner for Hapoel Acre Coaching Job
Former goalkeeper Itamar Nitzan is reportedly the leading candidate to become the new coach of Hapoel Acre, a team currently at the bottom of the National League. If Nitzan accepts the offer, the position will be his. The club is also undergoing a change in ownership, with outgoing owner Tzachi Nakash reportedly transferring the team to Amir Cohen, who is managing the acquisition on behalf of new owners Dudu and Natalie Vaturi. The sale price is reported to be NIS 500,000.
The mayor, Ohad Shagbat, supports the sale. In other personnel changes, Yisrael Zaguri has been appointed as the new professional manager, and Ariel Barak, formerly of Hapoel Ramat Gan, will serve as CEO. Zaguri had approached Asaf Nimni for a role, but Nimni opted to continue with the women's national team alongside Menachem Koretzky.
Should Nitzan decline the coaching position, Hapoel Acre will continue its search for a coach capable of keeping the team in the league. The club is currently in last place in the National League standings.
