Tens of Thousands Gather in Uman, Hundreds of Thousands Worldwide for Global Prayer
Tens of thousands of worshippers have arrived in Uman, Ukraine, over the past week via connecting flights from across Europe, to participate in the annual gathering at the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. This event, held annually near Rosh Hashanah, has become a significant moment of prayer and spiritual awakening for Jews worldwide.
At noon on Friday, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, a global "Tikkun HaKlali" (General Rectification) ceremony will take place. The central event will see tens of thousands congregate near Rabbi Nachman's tomb in Uman to collectively recite the ten Psalms designated as the Tikkun HaKlali. Simultaneously, hundreds of thousands of Jews across the globe will join this prayer through designated prayer centers, live broadcasts, and phone lines.
Organizers report unprecedented interest in this year's event, with many Israelis seeking unity in prayer for the new year, hoping for salvation and the imminent redemption. Last year, over 55,000 people participated in the Uman gathering alone. This year's ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
