The fifth season of the Israeli drama "Fauda," which directly addresses the October 7th Hamas attacks, has achieved significant viewership success globally, including in Arab nations. The series, created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, has climbed into Netflix's Top 10 in 43 countries, according to data from the monitoring platform FixPatrol. Notably, "Fauda" secured the number one spot in both Israel and Lebanon, a country considered an adversary.

This success in Lebanon continues the show's previous popularity in the Arab world. The new season also ranks highly in other Muslim-majority countries, reaching sixth place in Jordan and the UAE, eighth in Bahrain and Qatar, ninth in Egypt, and tenth in Turkey, Morocco, and Oman. The series' global release follows a period of intense scrutiny, as this is the first season distributed internationally since the October 7th events.

The plot of the fifth season is set two years after the October 7th massacre. The show's protagonists, led by Doron Kavillio (played by Lior Raz), grapple with the aftermath of the attack while embarking on a mission to thwart a major terrorist plot threatening Israel. The season features a double flashback episode dedicated to the events of October 7th, which prompted a viewer advisory from the production.

New additions to the cast include French actress Mélanie Laurent, who was in Israel during the war, and Israeli actresses Gal Malka and Raymond Amsalem. "Fauda" has garnered considerable attention for its direct portrayal of the October 7th events.
