Fauda Season 5 Tops Netflix Charts in Arab Nations Amid 7/10 Focus

The fifth season of the Israeli drama "Fauda," which directly addresses the October 7th Hamas attacks, has achieved significant viewership success globally, including in Arab countries. According to data from the monitoring platform FixPatrol, the series has entered the Top 10 on Netflix in 43 nations, ranking as the seventh most-watched series worldwide. Notably, "Fauda" secured the number one spot in both Israel and Lebanon.

This success in Lebanon, a country considered hostile to Israel, continues the show's past popularity in the Arab world. The new season also ranks highly in other Muslim-majority nations, reaching sixth place in Jordan and the UAE, eighth in Bahrain and Qatar, ninth in Egypt, and tenth in Turkey, Morocco, and Oman.

The latest season, created by lead actor Lior Raz and journalist Avi Issacharoff, is set two years after the October 7th massacre. The plot follows the elite counter-terrorism unit, led by Raz's character Doron Kavillio, as they grapple with the aftermath of the attack and embark on a mission to thwart a major terrorist plot threatening Israel.

"Fauda" garnered considerable attention during its broadcast for a double flashback episode dedicated entirely to the events of October 7th, prompting the production to issue an unusual viewer warning. The new season features new cast members, including French star Mélanie Laurent, who was in Israel during the war, alongside Israeli actresses Gal Malka and Raymond Amsellem.
