On the first day, September 11, candle lighting will occur at 18:10 in Jerusalem, 18:34 in Tel Aviv, 18:21 in Haifa, and 18:33 in Beersheba. For the second day of Rosh Hashanah, September 12, candles will be lit after Shabbat ends and stars appear. As fire cannot be lit on the holiday, but transferring it is permitted, candles for the second day are lit from a pre-lit yahrzeit candle. The times for this are 19:24 in Jerusalem, 19:26 in Tel Aviv, 19:26 in Haifa, and 19:26 in Beersheba. Two blessings are recited before lighting the candles: the blessing for lighting the festival candle and the blessing for reaching this time. The shofar will be sounded on Sunday, September 12, during morning prayers around 10:00 AM. Additionally, Chabad Hasidim will be blowing the shofar in parks and squares across Israel.
