Shofar Blowing Service Brought to Homes in Beit Shemesh This Rosh Hashanah

For the second consecutive year, the Beit Shemesh Municipality and the local Chabad House are collaborating to offer residents the service of having a shofar blown at their homes during Rosh Hashanah. Residents can arrange this by calling the municipal hotline at 106, and Chabad representatives will visit their homes to perform the ritual blowing of the shofar, free of charge.

The initiative aims to enable all residents, particularly those unable to attend synagogue for any reason, to fulfill the commandment of hearing the shofar. This year, due to the first day of Rosh Hashanah falling on a Saturday, the shofar blowing sessions will take place on the second day of the holiday. Organizers recommend scheduling the service during family meal times so that all household members can participate together.

Rabbi Eliezer Weiner, a representative of the Rebbe of Lubavitch, stated that the Beit Shemesh Chabad House operates 24 branches throughout the city, enabling them to reach every home. He expressed gratitude to the Beit Shemesh Municipality and Mayor Shmuel Greenberg for their support of the project, adding that such initiatives bring people closer to the Messianic era.
