Ben-Gvir Sues Gadi Eisenkot Over Alleged Defamation

Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has filed a defamation lawsuit of NIS 100,000 against opposition lawmaker Gadi Eisenkot and his party. The lawsuit, filed through attorney Zeev Woolf, stems from remarks Eisenkot made on the "How to Do Things" podcast, produced by Kan 11.

According to the lawsuit, Eisenkot accused Ben-Gvir of promoting violent TikTok videos targeting young people, which allegedly contained messages like "the only way is to kill" and "a good Arab is a dead Arab," alongside encouragement of force and bullying. Eisenkot then stated, "And when I look at the phenomenon called Itamar Ben-Gvir."

Ben-Gvir vehemently denies these accusations, asserting in the lawsuit that he has never published, promoted, or distributed videos calling for murder or containing the phrase "a good Arab is a dead Arab," labeling Eisenkot's claims as a complete fabrication.

The minister is seeking NIS 100,000 in damages without the need to prove financial loss. Additionally, Ben-Gvir requests that the court order Eisenkot and his party to remove the offending segment from all party-controlled platforms and to publish a clear retraction of the statements.
