Teen Arrested for Sexually Exploiting and Blackmailing Minor Met Online
An investigation by Israeli police has concluded with the arrest of a 14-year-old boy suspected of sexually exploiting and blackmailing a minor he met on TikTok. The relationship, which began on the social media platform, allegedly escalated into a pattern of threats and sexual demands. The suspect is accused of threatening the victim to engage in sexual acts and subsequently recording a sexual encounter between them. He is also suspected of distributing this intimate footage among his friends.
The investigation was initiated in August after police received a report from the victim detailing the alleged blackmail. The case was transferred to the youth department at the Bat Yam police station, where investigators uncovered the online origins of the relationship.
During the course of the investigation, the suspect was arrested and his detention was extended by the court multiple times. On September 1, the court ordered his release to full house arrest, where he has remained since. With the investigation now complete, prosecutors are expected to file charges against him in the coming days.
