Israeli Police Arrest 25-Year-Old from Bnei Brak for Sexual Offenses Against Minor Met on Instagram

Israeli youth detectives arrested a 25-year-old man from Bnei Brak on Thursday evening on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against a 15-year-old minor. According to the investigation, the suspect initially contacted the minor through the social media platform Instagram. After establishing contact online, they met in person, and the suspect allegedly committed the offenses in a parking lot near the minor's home.

The youth detectives from the Shafat station in the Jerusalem district were present in the area at the time, identified the incident, detained the suspect, and transferred him for questioning. Due to concerns that there may be additional victims following a similar pattern of behavior, and by court order, the police have released the suspect's identifying details. Authorities have urged anyone who believes they may have been victimized by the suspect to contact the Shafat police station or call the Israel Police emergency number 100. The suspect's detention has been extended until July 20, 2026.

This case adds to a series of recent incidents where suspects exploited minors' trust after meeting them on social media. Notably, a few months ago, a young man from Beitar Illit was arrested on similar charges involving ultra-Orthodox girls in Jerusalem, whom he allegedly lured to a known rooftop location to commit offenses.
