Hadassah Pediatric Experts Train Local Teams in Vanuatu

For the first time in its history, a delegation of pediatric emergency and intensive care specialists from Jerusalem's Hadassah Medical Center has traveled to Vanuatu. The mission, part of Hadassah's "Tebel" program, aims to strengthen local pediatric healthcare capabilities through long-term partnerships.

Led by Professor Saar Hashavya, head of pediatrics at Hadassah and deputy director of Hadassah Ein Kerem, the delegation is training local medical teams in emergency medicine, intensive care, and medical transport. The initiative, which has previously focused on Africa, emphasizes mutual learning, capacity building, and establishing sustainable professional and human connections.

In addition to knowledge transfer, the mission incorporates advanced Israeli medical technologies and training tools. This effort seeks to showcase the positive aspects of Israeli society and medicine, such as excellence, innovation, and a willingness to help others, particularly during a time when Israel faces international image challenges.

The program, conducted in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, intends to build a lasting bridge of knowledge and medical partnership that will endure beyond the delegation's return to Israel.
