Teacher Shot in Car at Special Education School in Hura
A teacher, approximately 40 years old, was shot on Thursday while in his car in the parking lot of a special education school in the Bedouin town of Hura, located in the Negev desert. The incident occurred in front of students.
Paramedics from Magen David Adom provided medical treatment to the victim, identified as Arua Nasser, and transported him to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva. He is reported to be in moderate condition. Nasser also works as a mediator in a Sharia court.
The police have launched an investigation into the shooting, but no suspects have been apprehended as of yet. The school, Al-Bayader, is located within the Hura Local Council.
Officials from the Hura Local Council and its education department condemned the shooting, calling it a "regrettable incident" and wishing the teacher a full recovery. They stated that significant police forces arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
