Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef Leads High Holy Day Gathering in בית שמש
Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef visited the city of בית שמש this week for a spiritual gathering ahead of the High Holy Days. The event, organized by his student and confidant, Chairman of the Religious Council Rabbi Avraham Padida, aimed to strengthen faith and encourage repentance.
During the gathering, Rabbi Yosef delivered a halachic (Jewish law) lecture focusing on the laws pertaining to the sounding of the shofar, a central ritual of Rosh Hashanah. He concluded his address by offering blessings for a good and blessed year to all attendees.
Following the lecture, a public recitation of the Slichot prayers took place, a penitential service recited in the days leading up to Yom Kippur. The cantor leading the prayers was Rabbi Moshe Habusha. The event drew a large crowd, underscoring the community's engagement with religious observance.
