Chief Rabbi Yosef Attends Selichot Service in Beit Shemesh
Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef attended a central Selichot (penitential prayers) gathering in Beit Shemesh late last night, ahead of the High Holy Days. The event, organized by his student and associate Chairman of the Religious Council Rabbi Avraham Padeida, aimed to strengthen and encourage repentance.
During the gathering, Rabbi Yosef delivered a halachic (Jewish law) lesson on the laws of blowing the shofar and concluded by wishing the attendees a good and blessed year. Following his address, the Selichot prayers were recited with a large congregation, led by cantor Moshe Hubba.
The event took place in Beit Shemesh, a city in central Israel, and drew a significant crowd for the pre-High Holy Day service.
