i24NEWS Achieves Record Growth, Outperforming Competitors

i24NEWS has concluded the Hebrew year 5786 with significant growth in viewership, according to recent data. The news channel reported that most of its programs doubled their ratings, and in some cases, more than doubled, while simultaneously eroding the viewership share of competing channels, which experienced double-digit percentage declines in comparable time slots.

The flagship evening news program, "The Main Edition," anchored by Miri Michaeli, saw an 86% increase in viewership from August to August and a 57% year-over-year average increase between 5785 and 5786. In contrast, rival news programs experienced drops: Channel 12 fell by 15%, Channel 13 by 17%, Channel 14 by 5%, and Kan 11 by 3%.

Weekend programming also showed strong performance. "Cabinet Friday" with Noa Dromi recorded a 52% annual average increase, securing second place among its competitors. "Shabbat Magazine" with Michal Ravinovitch surged by 67% annually.

Evening and current affairs programs also set new records. "7-Sharon Gal" jumped 129% year-over-year, surpassing Kan 11 in some metrics, while "Gilboa Index" with Niv Gilboa strengthened by 50% annually. Other notable increases include "The Arabists" with Zvi Yehezkeli (14%+ annually), "Five O'Clock Edition" with Sharon Nissim (50%+ annually), and "The Israelis" with Uri Koal (21%+ annually). The channel's broadcast segments achieved historic viewership highs, with "Cabinet Friday" reaching a peak of 5.4% viewership.
