Tel al-Saba Council Director Released on Bail Amid Bribery Probe
The Director-General of the Tel al-Saba Local Council, who was arrested on suspicion of bribery and bid-rigging, has been released by a court under restrictive conditions. He was detained along with the council head and other senior employees as part of an investigation by Lahav 433, a special police unit. Authorities suspected violations related to bribery, manipulation of tenders, and fraud.
Prosecutors had sought a third extension of the Director-General's detention for six days. However, the court decided to release him on bail, imposing conditions that include house arrest, a travel ban, and a 30-day suspension from his duties.
The lawyer representing the Director-General stated that his client denies all allegations from the outset of the investigation. He views the court's decision as validation of his client's position.
