Tiberias Man Arrested for Threatening Neighbor, Setting Car Ablaze

A resident of Tiberias has been indicted on charges of threatening to murder his neighbor, slashing his tires, and setting the vehicle on fire. The indictment, filed by the Northern District Prosecutor's Office in the Nazareth-Jalil District Court, includes charges of threats, illegal possession of a knife, malicious damage, and arson.

According to the indictment, the suspect approached his neighbor's daughter at her workplace on August 20th and threatened to kill her father. Later, he went to the neighbor's home armed with a knife but left when he saw the neighbor with his children. Shortly thereafter, the suspect punctured two of the neighbor's car tires. He then called the neighbor and made further threats, including an explicit threat to decapitate him.

On August 22nd, the suspect returned to the neighbor's car equipped with a pipe wrench and flammable material. He poured the substance onto the tires and set them ablaze. He then proceeded to inflict further damage on the vehicle using the wrench. Police from the Northern District launched an investigation and apprehended the suspect later that night after he fled his home. His detention has been extended periodically throughout the investigation.
