Man Threatens Neighbor, Sets Car Ablaze in Northern Israel

A resident of northern Israel has been indicted for allegedly threatening to murder his neighbor, stabbing his car's tires, and setting the vehicle on fire. The indictment, filed Thursday by the Northern District Prosecutor's Office in the Nazareth-Jalil District Court, charges the suspect with threats, unlawful possession of a knife, malicious damage, and arson.

According to the charges, on August 20, the suspect went to a business in Tiberias searching for his neighbor. He allegedly threatened the neighbor's daughter, who works there, saying he would murder her father. Later, he approached the neighbor's home armed with a knife but left when he saw the neighbor with his children. Shortly after, he allegedly used the knife to puncture two tires on the neighbor's car and then called him, threatening to "cut off his head."

The suspect fled his home after these incidents, and police launched a search. Two days later, he reportedly returned to the neighbor's car with a pipe wrench and flammable material. The indictment states he poured the material on the car's wheels and set them ablaze, then caused further damage with the pipe wrench.

The suspect was arrested that same night, and his detention was extended. His arrest followed an investigation by the Northern District police.
