Police Use Helicopter to Catch Unlicensed Bedouin Teen on ATV Without Helmet
Traffic police carried out a dramatic pursuit of a 16-year-old Bedouin boy from the Bedouin diaspora after he was spotted riding an ATV without a helmet and in violation of the law. When he saw the officers, he tried to flee by driving recklessly.
Police launched a chase on the ground and located him quickly with help from a helicopter overhead. According to the officers, the teen was driving in a way that endangered lives and had no protective gear or driver's license.
The investigation showed that the suspect is a member of the Danfiri tribe in the Bedouin diaspora and has never obtained a driving license. He was questioned at the Sdeh Shalom police station and received a summons to juvenile court.
The ATV he was riding was seized and ordered off the road for 30 days.
