Judean Man Charged with Online Extortion, Harassment of Minors

The prosecution has filed an indictment against a 24-year-old man from Jenin, accusing him of a series of online extortion, threats, and harassment offenses against several complainants, including minors from northern Israel. In one instance, he is also accused of sexual offenses and privacy violations. According to the indictment, filed by prosecutor Loay Ayadat, the defendant contacted complainants via social media, threatening to publish personal photos and information about them and their families, and created fake social media accounts in their names.

In one case, he published a photo of a minor with a relative, accompanied by a false and insulting sexually suggestive claim. In another, he threatened a complainant, stating, "I told you, if you go to God, I will reach you... I will keep making accounts to bring you down until I burn you all over the country." In a separate incident, the accused threatened a 16-year-old minor, forcing her to expose part of her body during a video call. He recorded the encounter without her knowledge and threatened to release the video if she did not comply with his demands.

The indictment charges the defendant with extortion by threat, threats, harassment via communication methods, committing an indecent act under duress, privacy violation, and illegal entry into or residency in Israel. The Karmiel police station is investigating the case.
