A complex rescue operation concluded successfully on Wednesday in Kiryat Gat after a female worker became trapped in an industrial meat grinder. Her hand was caught in the machine's mechanism at a workshop on Malacha Street.
Firefighters and rescue teams from the Ashkelon regional station responded rapidly to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the distressed worker with her hand stuck. The firefighters used specialized rescue equipment to carefully dismantle the machine, aiming to free her hand safely and prevent further injury.
During the rescue, the worker received initial medical treatment from an operational medic. She was successfully extricated and transferred to medical personnel for further care. Her condition was described as moderate.
Accidents involving industrial machinery, particularly meat grinders, pose significant risks. The article notes similar past incidents, including a 2022 case in Jerusalem where a worker's hand was severed in a meat grinder, and a 2018 rescue in Beit Shemesh involving a similar machine entrapment.
