US Rejects Following UK Sanctions Against Israel, Jerusalem Vows Retaliation

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington will not follow the United Kingdom's lead in imposing sanctions against Israel. "We are not going to do what the United Kingdom has done," Rubio commented, declining to elaborate further on the administration's stance regarding the British restrictions.

This comes as Israel's Foreign Minister, Gidon Saar, announced that Jerusalem, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's approval, will implement retaliatory measures against the UK. Saar indicated these actions are a response to the new sanctions declared by the British Foreign Secretary, as well as prior London actions perceived in Jerusalem as hostile towards Israel.

Saar criticized the British minister's statements in parliament, calling the accusations "outrageous and untrue." He emphasized that the dispute is not with the British people, citing Israel's strong ties and support among UK citizens. Saar attributed the current situation to the current Labour government, which he believes has consistently adopted an anti-Israel stance.
