Netanyahu to Place Channel 14 Commentator on Likud Knesset List

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to reserve a spot on the Likud party's Knesset list for Yaakov Bardugo, a commentator for Channel 14, according to a report by Channel 14 News. This move is expected to occur as part of a merger agreement with Gideon Sa'ar's "New Hope" party (The National Right). Reports indicate Sa'ar relinquished his reserved spot, originally intended for Michel Buskila, in favor of Bardugo.

Discussions are ongoing regarding the final placement and details of these appointments on the list. In addition to Bardugo, Netanyahu has chosen several other figures to join the Likud slate for the upcoming elections. These include Talik Guyali, the mother of Sergeant Major Rani Guyali, who fell in battle on October 7th and whose body was recovered in Operation "Brave Heart." She has become a prominent public figure advocating for the commemoration of his legacy.

Also joining the list is Elisha Medan, a reservist fighter and co-founder of the settlement of Avigail. Medan lost both his legs after being severely wounded in battle in Beit Hanoun, Gaza, and has since become a symbol of healing and rehabilitation. He was placed in a slot that was initially designated for tech entrepreneur Oren Dubronsky, who decided not to run.

Additionally, attorney David Peter, known for his association with the conservative legal camp and criticism of judicial activism and the legal counsel system for the government, will be included. Amir Aviv, founder of the "Bithonistim" movement and a former senior IDF official, including chief of staff to the Chief of Staff, deputy commander of the Gaza Division, and commander of the Combat Engineering Corps School, will also be placed on the list. The "Bithonistim" movement also announced its joining the Likud party.
