Channel 14 Host Yaakov Bardugo Set for Knesset Seat via Likud

Channel 14 host Yaakov Bardugo is reportedly slated to receive a reserved spot on the Likud party's Knesset list, according to sources close to the matter. This move comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finalizes the party's slate ahead of upcoming elections.

Bardugo's inclusion is part of a broader strategy by Netanyahu to bolster the Likud list with prominent figures, particularly those with security and "values-based" backgrounds, aiming to appeal to a wider electorate. The party is emphasizing security-oriented candidates to strengthen its appeal.

Among other individuals reportedly receiving reserved spots are Brigadier General (res.) Amir Avivi, founder of the "Bishvileihem" (For Their Sake) movement and a former senior IDF officer; Talik Guili, mother of a fallen Border Police officer; and Elisha Medan, a reservist who lost both legs in combat and has become a symbol of resilience. Lawyer David Peter, a former researcher at the Kohelet Forum who represented the government in key High Court petitions, is also expected to be included.

These additions follow the withdrawal of Oren Dobronsky, a well-known businessman, who relinquished his reserved spot due to his unwillingness to give up his American citizenship. Dobronsky expressed a future ambition to serve as a professional minister in the field of artificial intelligence.
