Three Brothers Charged in Deadly Family Feud Shooting in Rahat

Three brothers from Rahat have been indicted on charges related to a murder stemming from a family dispute. According to the indictment, one brother, Daoud, shot the victim, another brother, Ahmed, beat him with a club, and a third brother, Amir, attempted to tamper with evidence at the scene in front of police officers. One of the brothers has since fled the country.

The incident began when Daoud, who was at a distant shop, received information about an argument involving his brothers. He quickly left the shop with his uncle, got into his luxury car, and sped to the scene. They spotted the victim standing on the sidewalk near his home. Daoud stopped the car, approached the victim while holding a loaded pistol, and fired shots into the air. The victim's father and son attempted to intervene, but Daoud aimed the gun at the victim and shot him in the abdomen.

As the victim fell to the ground bleeding, Ahmed began to beat him severely with a club. Family members of the victim tried to provide aid, but the brothers prevented them from doing so before fleeing the scene in their separate vehicles. Daoud then went home, changed his clothes, and left Israel.

The victim was critically injured and taken to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva, where he was pronounced dead. Police investigators arrived at the scene and began collecting evidence and witness testimonies. During this time, Amir arrived at the location where the victim had fallen. He moved a spent shell casing and then used his feet to obscure the bloodstains.

Daoud, who was arrested after returning from abroad, is charged with murder and weapons offenses. Ahmed is charged with manslaughter with diminished responsibility. Amir is also charged with weapons offenses and, along with Daoud, is accused of attempting to obstruct the investigation. The prosecution has requested the court to confiscate the vehicles used in the crime and escape.
