Two Rahat Residents Indicted for Threatening Food Business Competitors with Violence
The Beersheba District Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against Sami Abu Galbin, 47, and his nephew Muhammad Abu Galbin, 29, both residents of Rahat, for extortion and threats aimed at business rivals in the food sector. Sami Abu Galbin operates a food supply business serving foreign workers in the Gaza Envelope and Western Negev regions, where the complainant runs a competing enterprise. According to the indictment, Sami threatened the complainant's son with severe violence, saying, "I can break your car and your legs, I can bring you a bullet to the head and you won't know who shot you." In another incident, Sami reportedly arrived at the complainant's location wielding a metal rod and attempted to forcibly open their vehicle doors. The charges allege these actions were intended to prevent the complainant from selling food products in the area. The case is now before the Beersheba District Court for further proceedings.
