Four Rahat Residents Arrested for Alleged Extortion Threats in Eshkol Region
Four men in their 30s from Rahat were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of extorting a meat distribution operator in the Eshkol Regional Council area. The suspects allegedly threatened the operator to prevent him from continuing his business activities in the region. The arrests were made during an operational activity by detectives from the Central Unit of the Negev District Police in southern Israel, following a covert investigation that uncovered the suspects' involvement in extortion offenses. The suspects were transferred for further questioning at the Negev District Investigation Unit. Based on the investigation findings, they will be brought before the Beersheba Magistrate's Court, where the police will request an extension of their detention.
