Two Rahat Residents Charged with Attempted Murder and Shooting at Police in Tel Sheva

The prosecution has filed two indictments at the Beersheba District Court against Muhammad Abu Sidra (25) and Anas Alataika (22), both residents of Rahat, for attempted murder in Tel Sheva and shooting at police officers. The indictments also accuse Anwar Alataika (28), Anas's sister, of obstruction of justice and providing false information. According to the charges, the two men blocked the victim's vehicle, after which Anas Alataika exited the car holding a weapon and shot the victim in the head. Anas also fired at police officers who arrived at the scene. The victim is currently hospitalized in critical condition at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. Additionally, Anwar Alataika reportedly called the police shortly after the incident at her brother's request, falsely reporting that her car had been stolen to hinder the investigation.
