Two Residents of Tel Sheva Indicted for Fleeing Police with Gun and Hitting Family Car

On Sunday, an indictment was filed against Mohammed Abu Sulab, 21, and Az Abu Ata, 18, both residents of Tel Sheva, for carrying and transporting a Glock pistol without a permit. According to the indictment submitted by Attorney Hila Malul from the Southern District Prosecutor's Office, the incident occurred in early July when the two were driving in Beersheba with a Glock 19 pistol and a matching magazine.

During a police operation, officers stopped their vehicle and approached it. Upon noticing the police, the suspects attempted to flee by reversing at high speed, colliding with a car carrying a family. This caused the police officers to be pushed backward and damage to the family vehicle. Due to the danger posed to the officers and other road users, one officer fired at the vehicle's tires to stop the suspects.

After the vehicle stopped, one suspect exited, while the other resisted arrest. An officer had to physically enter the vehicle and press the brake pedal with his foot to prevent further movement. The indictment charges the suspects with illegal possession and transportation of a weapon, reckless and negligent behavior, and obstructing a police officer during duty.
