Referee Claims Player Yelled 'You Are Weak' Leading to Red Card
Hapoel Be'er Sheva suffered a significant defeat against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday, compounded by a serious injury to Lucas Ventura and the ejection of midfielder Aliel Peretz in the first half. Peretz was sent off after receiving two yellow cards from referee Yigal Fried.
Fried's report detailed the reason for the second yellow card, stating that Peretz yelled, "You are weak, weak, you have no idea." This accusation led to the referee's decision to send the player off.
Peretz, however, offered a different account of the incident. He claimed his complaints were related to Fried's failure to stop the game when Miguel Vitor sustained an injury. Peretz argued that Fried would have halted play if a Maccabi Tel Aviv player had been injured. Following the first yellow card, Peretz reportedly questioned the referee's decision, saying, "What are you giving a yellow for? You have no idea. You came to steal the show."
