IDF Soldiers Kill Hezbollah Militant in Southern Lebanon Clash
The Israeli military reported that soldiers from the Golani Brigade's reconnaissance unit engaged in a close-quarters firefight with a Hezbollah militant in the Beaufort area of southern Lebanon on Monday. The militant, who was inside a structure, opened fire on the Israeli forces during a search operation.
Israeli soldiers immediately returned fire, killing the militant. During the exchange, two Israeli soldiers sustained light injuries and were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment. Their families have been notified.
In response to the attack, Israeli forces fired artillery shells at the location where the militant had been hiding. The IDF also conducted strikes against additional Hezbollah weapons depots, command centers, and terror infrastructure in the area.
The IDF stated it will not permit Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or its forces and will continue to operate to neutralize threats while adhering to the ceasefire agreement.
