IDF Soldiers Clash With Hezbollah Militant in Southern Lebanon, Two Wounded

Two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded during a close-quarters encounter with a Hezbollah militant in the Beaufort area of southern Lebanon on Sunday. The soldiers, part of the Golani Brigade's reconnaissance unit, were conducting searches when the militant, who was inside a structure, opened fire on them. The Israeli soldiers immediately returned fire, neutralizing the militant. The wounded soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment and their families were notified.

Following the exchange, Israeli forces shelled the structure where the militant had been hiding. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also targeted additional Hezbollah infrastructure in the area, including weapons storage facilities, command posts, and terror infrastructure. The IDF stated that the operation in the Beaufort region aims to neutralize threats posed by Hezbollah and protect Israeli residents and security forces.

Golani reconnaissance soldiers have been actively operating in the area recently as part of an effort to establish operational control, following a prolonged period of military activity.
