Israeli Startup Hydrosight Raises $5 Million for AI-Powered Seabed Mapping
Hydrosight, a Haifa-based startup developing an artificial intelligence platform for analyzing and mapping the seabed, has announced the completion of a $5 million seed funding round. The round was led by StageOne Ventures, with participation from Vertex Ventures and the National Center for Blue Economy, which operates under HiCenter Ventures.
Hydrosight was founded in late 2025 by CEO Tomer Adler, CTO Haim Azzi, and COO Chen Megre. The company, which currently employs five people, aims to solve the challenge of processing vast amounts of data collected by modern marine survey technologies like sonar. While these systems gather extensive data, interpreting it often requires significant manual effort and expertise.
The company's AI platform integrates marine survey data from various sources and time periods, analyzing it to automatically identify changes, anomalies, and patterns on the seabed. This allows infrastructure operators to understand how the seabed evolves over time, which is crucial for planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of underwater assets such as ports, energy facilities, and communication cables.
Hydrosight's technology can reportedly shorten processes that previously took hours of manual work, transforming raw survey data into actionable information for infrastructure planning and management. The company is already deploying its technology in projects with marine infrastructure owners in Israel and abroad, using previously collected field data. Hydrosight operates by selling solutions to organizations and companies managing underwater infrastructure.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand the company's team, enhance its AI and analysis capabilities, broaden its commercial activities, and increase its presence in international markets. CEO Tomer Adler highlighted the vastness of the underwater world and its increasing importance to human life, noting that expanding marine infrastructure and the shift to clean energy will drive demand for accurate seabed data. Tal Slobodkin of StageOne Ventures added that Hydrosight's AI transforms marine data into usable insights for operations and decision-making, addressing a gap in understanding underwater environments.
