IDF Strikes Gaza After Engineering Vehicle Hits Hamas Bomb
An Israeli military engineering vehicle struck a Hamas explosive device in northern Gaza near the "yellow line" border area on Sunday. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported no Israeli casualties but described the incident as a "blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Hamas terror organization."
In response, the IDF conducted overnight strikes targeting Hamas terror infrastructure used to advance terror plans against Israeli civilians and soldiers. The IDF stated that forces in the southern command are deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to neutralize immediate threats.
This incident follows a series of recent military operations by the IDF in Gaza. Last week, the IDF eliminated Muhammad al-Qadi, a commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba force who led the raid on the Sufa outpost during the October 7th massacre and held hostages in Rafah. Additionally, Shin Bet and IDF elite forces captured Hamas's head of general security in Gaza in a complex operation in western Gaza City, which involved ground forces and extensive airstrikes.
