Israel Strikes Hamas Infrastructure in Gaza After Border Incident
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes on Hamas terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip overnight Monday in response to an explosive device detonated against an IDF engineering vehicle near the Gaza border fence. The incident occurred Sunday when the vehicle encountered the Hamas-placed device in the northern Gaza Strip along the "yellow line," the demarcation with Israel. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the blast. The IDF characterized the detonation as a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire agreement by Hamas. In retaliation, the IDF targeted Hamas infrastructure used by the terror group to advance terror plans against Israeli civilians and soldiers. The strikes took place during the night following the Sunday incident.
