Israel Strikes Hamas Infrastructure in Gaza After Border Incident
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes on Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip overnight Monday in response to a roadside bomb detonated by Hamas targeting an IDF engineering vehicle near the "yellow line" border fence in northern Gaza on Sunday. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the incident.
The IDF stated that the detonation of the explosive device constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hamas. The subsequent Israeli strikes targeted infrastructure used by the terrorist organization to advance terror attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
Forces from the IDF Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to neutralize any immediate threats.
