Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the dismantling of illegal settler outposts and settlements in Judea and Samaria, according to Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter. The decision reportedly comes in response to pressure from the United States, which has urged a tougher stance against settler violence targeting Palestinian Arabs.

Sources indicate that Netanyahu's directive includes the eviction of residents from these outposts, a move influenced by U.S. demands. While these settlements are considered illegal under Israeli law due to the lack of necessary permits, many receive state support and funding, and some later gain official status. The Israeli government has periodically dismantled such outposts in the past, but they are often quickly reestablished, and previous enforcement efforts have frequently lacked broad practical implementation.

The timeline for this operation remains unclear.
